Church Partnerships

A Church Can Do More Than Stand for Life. It Can Walk Alongside a Family.

At Choices Pregnancy Center, we believe being pro-abundant life means caring for the whole person and the whole family. A pregnancy test or ultrasound may be the first step, but the need for encouragement, practical help, and community often continues long after that appointment.

That is where local churches can make a lasting difference.

We want to partner with churches throughout Johnston County to surround women, men, and families with the kind of care that extends beyond a single moment. Together, we can help families find not only the information and resources they need today, but also the relationships and support that help them flourish tomorrow.

There is a place for your church in this work.

The Care Continues Beyond the First Appointment

Every family who comes to Choices has a story of their own. Some arrive with questions or uncertainty about a pregnancy. Others are excited about becoming parents and want trusted information as they prepare for what is ahead. Some are already raising young children and need encouragement, education, or practical resources.

We meet people where they are, offering free pregnancy testing, limited OB ultrasounds, pregnancy and parenting education, life-skills classes, baby supplies, and community referrals.

But we also recognize that families need more than an appointment. They need people who remember their names, keep their word, celebrate their joys, and show up when life becomes difficult.

A church can help make that kind of ongoing care possible.

Our vision is to connect Choices with local congregations that are willing to walk alongside families in tangible, personal ways, reflecting the love of Christ through relationships that last.

Walk Alongside a Family: Become a Family Mentor Partner

One of our greatest hopes is to build a network of church members who are willing to become Family Mentors for parents connected with Choices.

Think about the difference it could make for a mother to have someone check in on her after her baby arrives. Someone who remembers the hard days as well as the milestones. Someone who might bring groceries when the family is stretched, share a meal, offer parenting encouragement, or simply listen when a new season feels overwhelming.

Sometimes support looks like a practical gift. Sometimes it looks like a conversation, a familiar face, or the reassurance that someone has not forgotten about you.

That is the heart of family mentorship.

We envision church members coming alongside mothers, fathers, and families during pregnancy and into early parenthood. Depending on a family's expressed needs and the mentor's role, this could include:

  • Checking in regularly during pregnancy and after the baby is born.

  • Bringing groceries or coordinating practical assistance when a family needs extra help.

  • Offering encouragement as parents learn and grow in their new roles.

  • Celebrating milestones and sharing in the ordinary moments that make family life meaningful.

  • Helping parents find supportive community and church connections when they welcome that opportunity.

We also want to make room for fathers to receive encouragement and build confidence in their role as parents.

Mentorship is not about having every answer or trying to direct someone else's life. It is about being a steady, caring presence and helping a family feel less alone.

We are working toward building this opportunity with local church partners. Choices will work with participating churches to establish clear expectations, appropriate training, and healthy boundaries before mentor relationships begin. Any connection will be voluntary and offered with the family's permission.

Could your church help us build this kind of community?

We would love to talk with churches interested in helping shape a thoughtful, sustainable Family Mentor program.

More Ways Your Church Can Partner With Choices

Not every church will be ready to begin a mentoring program right away, and that is okay. Partnership can begin with a single conversation and grow as relationships develop.

Pray With Purpose

Prayer is an important part of our ministry. We welcome churches that want to pray for the women, men, babies, and families connected with Choices, as well as our staff and volunteers.

Your congregation can commit to regular prayer, include Choices in church prayer updates, or help us identify a team of people who will faithfully lift up this work. We can share appropriate ministry needs without compromising the privacy of the people who come to us.

Meet Practical Needs

Practical support can ease some of the pressure families experience as they prepare for a baby and navigate early parenthood.

Your church might organize a collection of needed baby supplies, help restock our Baby Boutique, coordinate a seasonal supply drive, or invite members to purchase items from our Amazon Wishlist. Churches may also support our work through a designated offering or ongoing financial partnership.

Every gift helps us continue providing services and resources at no cost to the people who come to Choices.

Equip and Mobilize Your Congregation

Your church does not have to figure out this ministry alone.

A first step could be identifying one church liaison who can stay in touch with Choices, share opportunities with your congregation, and help connect willing volunteers with meaningful roles. From there, a church team might include people committed to prayer, mentorship, practical resources, and volunteer support.

We would also welcome opportunities to visit your church, share more about our work, answer questions, and help your congregation understand how it can become part of a broader pro-abundant life effort.

For churches interested in deeper preparation, Care Net's Making Life Disciples training offers a framework for equipping believers to provide compassionate, practical, gospel-centered support to individuals and families facing pregnancy decisions.

Help Families Flourish

Supporting life means caring about what happens after a pregnancy decision, after a baby is born, and throughout the everyday work of raising a child.

Church partnerships can help create connections to parenting support, healthy relationships, men's and women's ministries, and other resources that strengthen families. We also welcome churches that want to learn how to offer compassionate support to people seeking healing after an abortion.

Together, we can build a community in which families have more people to turn to, more opportunities for encouragement, and more access to the support they need.

A Stronger Community Begins With Relationships

Johnston County is home to families with different stories, circumstances, and needs. We cannot meet every need by ourselves, and we do not believe we are meant to.

We believe the local church has an important role in building the kind of caring community where mothers, fathers, and children can grow. By bringing our work together, Choices and local churches can help bridge the gap between an immediate need and the lasting relationships that make a difference over time.

You do not need to have a complete program or a long list of volunteers before you reach out. We would be glad to begin with a conversation, learn about your church's heart and strengths, and explore what partnership could look like.

Perhaps it begins with a few people who are willing to mentor. Perhaps it begins with prayer, a supply drive, or a church visit. Whatever the first step looks like, we would love to take it together.
